Forest Engineer
Ernst Zürcher is a forest engineer with a doctorate in natural sciences.
Emeritus Professor of Wood Science at the Bern University of Applied Sciences University of Applied Sciences, and until recently was a lecturer at the École the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, the Swiss Federal and at the University of Lausanne. He is continuing his research on trees and wood, in particular their chronobiology, carbon sequestration carbon sequestration potential and their contribution to living systems to the ecological transition. He is the author of numerous scientific articles and several books: Les Arbres, entre Visible et Invisible (2016), Planting a Tree and Creating a Forest (2021), À l'écoute de la forêt (2021), Le pouls de la Terre (2023).
