A new perspective on ecology

The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is working to rebuild our relationship with nature in a profoundly humanistic and forward-looking way. Convinced that the ecological transition cannot be achieved without an in-depth cultural transformation, we have launched The Green Shift Initiative.
This ambitious initiative is based on a multidisciplinary approach, combining science, culture and art, to take a fresh look at our environment and inspire lasting change in the way we think and act.

Our mission: to create new, hopeful narratives capable of mobilising people's awareness, talents and wills around a positive and inclusive ecological vision.

Our ambition: to make the cultural sector a strategic lever for ecological transformation, by supporting innovation, interdisciplinary dialogue and collective commitment.
In a changing world, artists, institutions and cultural professionals have a key role to play: shaping imaginations, provoking reflection, and opening up new paths towards a resilient future.

"The starting point of the Green Shift Initiative is a question that seems to me to be shared at all levels: how can we trigger a real change in the way we see and think about the world?
Science is fundamental to addressing environmental challenges, but beyond the circles of experts, scientific messages do not always trigger the necessary shift to action. To project ourselves into a desirable future, emotion, creativity and art are powerful levers for generating commitment. This is the mission we have set ourselves through the initiative and the Green Shift Festival, which is one of its pillars."

Olivier Wenden, Vice Chairman and CEO of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
