Author, producer and entrepreneur with a passionate interest in Japanese pop culture
Born in Nice in 1979, Cédric Biscay is an author, producer and entrepreneur with a passion for Japanese pop culture. Holder of 3 World Guinness Book records with game designer Yu Suzuki for the video game Shenmue 3 and a Goya nomination for the documentary Sad Hill Unearthed directed by Guillermo de Oliveira, he is also the creator of the Monaco Anime Game International Conferences ‘MAGIC’, Europe's leading pop culture event. Since 2020 he has been writing the Manga Blitz with the support of former World Chess Champion Garry Kasparov, the very first manga in the history of the Principality of Monaco. 10 volumes have been published to date. With over 20 years' experience of working with Japan, in 2021 he was awarded the Japanese Foreign Minister's Certificate of Honour by Mr Taro Kono for his significant contribution to the development of cultural and economic relations with Japan. In 2022 he was made a Knight of the Order of St Charles by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, and in the same year became Ambassador for Women's Rights in the Principality of Monaco. Cédric Biscay is currently working on a new animated series called Astroboy Reboot, based on the most famous Japanese hero imagined by Osamu Tezuka.
