Professional diver, expedition leader and scientific advisor to Commander Cousteau, he has taken part in some twenty expeditions aboard the Calypso. He was head of the "Fisheries Resources" department at WWF France and, together with Laurent Debas, was behind the concept of UEGC (Unités d'Exploitation et de Gestion Concertées, or Concerted Exploitation and Management Units) for the sustainable management of fisheries resources by fishermen. He is also the founder of the Longitude 181 Nature association, which aims to protect the marine environment and ensure the equitable sharing of its resources, based on the International Charter for Responsible Divers. Diver, scientific advisor and co-screenwriter of the film Oceans directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud. Scientific advisor and co-author of the series of four 52-minute documentaries "Le peuple des Océans" (directed by J. Perrin and J. Cluzaud).
