Ecological transition in the cultural sector: a professional workshop rallies Monaco's institutions as part of the Green Shift Festival

Workshop

As part of the Green Shift Festival, a professional workshop was held on Tuesday June 3 in Monaco, bringing together the Principality's leading cultural institutions to work towards a common goal: to advance the ecological transition of the cultural sector.  Organised by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation in collaboration with Monaco's Department of Cultural affairs, this workshop is a continuation of the work carried out in 2023 and 2024, reinforcing the collective commitment to a more responsible and sustainable future.

Led by Yasmina Auburtin-Mezaoui, consultitant in new narratives, and Laurence Ghestem, consultant in ecological and cultural transition, the workshop was based on the robustness method developed by researcher Olivier Hamant. The workshop provided a rich and constructive forum for discussion of eco-responsible best practice and the concrete levers for change that can be activated within cultural organisations.

Through this workshop, Monaco's cultural players are reaffirming their desire to rethink the way they operate in order to meet environmental challenges. Culture, more than ever, needs to reinvent itself to meet today ecological challenges. Culture has the power to transform our imaginations and inspire the changes needed to build a sober, equitable and resilient future.
