University of the Living

Projects

Young volunteers trained in current environmental and social issues.

The University of the Living, an educational programme run by the Agir pour le vivant festival, aims to provide the keys to understanding and the tools to nurture young people's commitment to a socially responsible and environmentally friendly society. For one week, masterclasses and workshops are organised for around thirty young people aged 18 to 25 who are invited to Arles to attend the festival and benefit – free of charge – from a programme specifically designed and tailored for them.

Since 2023, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation has supported the Agir pour le Vivant festival and, more specifically, this programme for the last two editions.

Last year, students from the University of the Living were able to listen to Imogen Napper, marine scientist and National Geographic explorer, expert in plastic pollution and member of the Re.Generation 2023 class.

This year, for the sixth edition of Agir pour le vivant from 23 to 28 August 2025, Célia Roussin, member of the Re.Generation 2025, who will be invited to Arles as the founder of Pépite Raisin, a pioneering company committed to innovative circular solutions using vine and wine residues, to inspire young volunteers.

At a time when young people must project themselves into a world whose economic, political and philosophical foundations need to be reinvented, it is more urgent than ever to acquire the tools to drive this movement forward, in the name of a whole, diverse and earthly humanity.
