VROOM Summit 2024

Fashion

A 2024 edition dedicated to innovative technologies for the positive transformation of the fashion and beauty industries.

It's not just about changing an industry, but also about creatively and boldly inspiring a global movement based on the values of sustainability, circularity, social and environmental justice’. This is the vision supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and shared by its Administrative and Financial Director Raphaël Ghiandai, at the VROOM Summit 2024 organised by Whit Castle Partners on 28 November. An opportunity to recall the key role played by the fashion sector in the transition of our societies.

The potential for creativity and influence of these industries no longer needs to be demonstrated, but at a time of growing ecological awareness, it is above all their environmental and social footprint that is the subject of debate. Water pollution, wasted resources, catastrophic carbon emissions, sometimes deleterious working conditions... fashion and beauty professionals must rise to the challenge of an appropriate, fair and effective transition and move towards the production of eco-responsible alternatives that are increasingly popular with consumers.

The aim of the VROOM Summit 2024 was to showcase experts and innovators committed to sustainability. The CEO of Carbios, for example, presented his unique textile recycling process based on enzymatic depolymerisation, while Unilever's Global VP of Packaging spoke about his strategy to reduce plastic packaging in favour of new sustainable materials and technologies.

Raphaël Ghiandai shared the creative and conscious vision of tomorrow's fashion that his Green Shift initiative embodies, aiming in particular to question our lifestyles in order to accelerate the transition to more sustainable models. The professionals at the round table agreed on the importance of investing in responsible solutions for sustainable and circular fashion, and questioned the positioning of luxury brands in relation to these issues.

The event was also an opportunity to hear from a number of entrepreneurs who have developed innovative solutions designed to redefine the possibilities in fashion, beauty and luxury.
