Morgane Ganault

Illistrator and co-writer of the book À ceux qui viennent

Morgane Ganault grew up in the Roya Valley, surrounded by olive trees, thyme and rocky peaks. She has used comics as a means of expression since childhood, and began working on them “in earnest” from 2019, when she started engaging in science communication. Curious about almost everything she encounters along her — often winding — path, she draws on her literary studies and her love of storytelling to share, through comic strips and illustration, subjects she could happily discuss for hours over her morning coffee.

She has taken part in various festivals, including Passeurs d’Humanité since 2021, as a graphic facilitator and illustrator of debates and conferences. For her, drawing serves as a bridge between different spheres of knowledge, combining insight and pedagogy in a culture where images often take precedence over long-form reading. It is a way of sparking interest and curiosity in everyone.

Since May 2024, she has been working as a coordinator and workshop facilitator for Atelier Rural en Roya, an association dedicated to imagining desirable futures by bringing together art, architecture and craftsmanship. The organisation is co-developing a third place in a former railway site in Breil-sur-Roya, with the aim of creating a space for training, action-research and artistic creation.

In 2025, she submitted and won a Citizen Art call for projects from the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation, entitled Roya Open Sources. Around ten artists are collaborating with researchers from the Sorbonne on karst networks and mountain springs, combining citizen science, popular education and artistic practice. She leads this project while also contributing to raising public awareness through illustrated panels presenting the various strands of field research.
