Singer, Songwriter & Folk Americana Guitarist
There are rare, powerful and timeless voices that seize you from the very first listen. Bobbie’s voice belongs to that lineage, following in the footsteps of the great artists she has admired since childhood, foremost among them Joni Mitchell and Dolly Parton.
Bobbie grew up just a train ride from Paris, but it was in the United States that she found much of her musical inspiration, nurtured by the blues records passed down by her father. Influenced by the traditions of American folk and soul, she invites listeners in her debut album, released on 29 March 2024, to celebrate the sacred within the ordinary.
The record unfolds as an intimate journey between nostalgia and tenderness. Across eleven finely crafted songs aimed straight at the heart, Bobbie traces the personal and melancholic path towards her dream, in the spirit of a road movie: the loss of her father during childhood, an absence that echoes through her love life, and the courage to leave troubled waters behind and claim the freedom to follow her own star.
With arrangements featuring organ, pedal steel and gospel harmonies, the album embraces the traditions of the genre while wrapping it in nostalgia — a central theme that inspires the album’s title track, The Sacred in the Ordinary, or the art of rediscovering the sacred in everyday life, much like the feeling of an afternoon snack at a grandmother’s house.
This debut album already resonates like a folk Americana classic and has received unanimous support from the press and media. It was selected among the 40 best albums of the year for the Prix Joséphine.
In September 2024, Bobbie appeared on the programme Taratata, performing her song Oh Babe. She was also invited to feature on the latest album by the electro duo Bon Entendeur, released earlier this year.
It is on stage, however, that she reveals her full potential. After performing at the Francofolies de La Rochelle in 2022 and opening in recent years for artists such as Gabi Hartmann and JS Ondara in venues including Bercy, Le Bataclan, L’Élysée Montmartre and New Morning, she also opened for the legendary band TOTO at the Palais des Sports and the Théâtre Antique d’Orange in the summer of 2024.
She performed to a sold-out audience for the release of her album at Café de la Danse on 4 April 2024, and will return to Paris for a headline show at L’Alhambra on 3 April 2025.
